Presented by Tura New Music

A sonic landscape of percussion, clarinet, electronics and piano.

Join Intercurrent as they explore a world of musical doubles; real, imagined and imperfect. Notable and emerging Australian and international composers, Julian Day, Hannah Lash, Chris Tonkin and Alex Turley present works alongside the twisting parallels of Philip Glass’s iconic Music in Similar Motion.

Julian Day’s newly commissioned Low Horizons layers the ensemble against a warped electronic version of itself to powerful effect. Ripples of sound peel out from the opening of Hannah Lash’s C, a brief yet electrifying duo for vibraphone and piano. Chris Tonkin’s Entr’acte centres the bass clarinet within a swirling world of video and electronic sounds, while emerging talent Alex Turley turns his evocative language to Intercurrent’s unique sonic formation of bass clarinet, percussion and piano.

Presented by prominent Perth sound artists - Louise Devenish, Ashley Smith, Emily Green-Armytage and Lachlan Skipworth.

Warnings: Not recommended for children under 6.

Please note:
