Presented by Tura New Music

A hundred years ago musical modernism burst onto the scene of Rio de Janeiro.

Western Australian composers Ellie Cumming, Sam Gillies, Alexander Turley, Lindsay Vickery and Chilean/Australian composer Pedro Alvarez respond to Villa-Lobos’ seminal Sexteto Mistico and works by living Brazilian composers Felipe Lara and Flo Menezes in a celebration of modern and new music of Brazil performed by GreyWing.

GreyWing are Catherine Ashley (harp), Jameson Feakes (guitar), Lindsay Vickery (clarinet/saxophone), and Kirsten Smith (flute), Niamh Dell (oboe), and Stewart Smith (piano).

Experience music of Brazil and the artistic responses to this style from WA composers.

Warnings: Not recommended for children under 6.
