The popular Harbourside Concert Series returns for a seventh year with a diverse program of Western Australia’s most outstanding and entertaining musicians.

With cabaret-style seating, bar service and award-winning food, what better way to break the winter chill than to bask in the glow of a great evening’s music!

June 15

  1. Los Car Keys

This High-fiving fun crew from Denmark are the new kids on the block, albeit in well-worn bodies! They have a passion for African and South American music along with composing original songs that reflect infectious humour, vibrant and often improvised music.

  1. Albany Shantymen

Raucous, loud and beardy, the Albany Shantymen returned triumphant from Fairbridge Festival having sung up a storm of salty tales and windswept stories. Led by Grizzy Greenwald, let them take you on an historical and interactive show that will have you bellowing boldy like you have never before.

June 22

  1. Penderecki String Quartet with David Braid

The internationally acclaimed Penderecki String Quartet performs with improviser, composer and Steinway artist, David Braid – winner of two Canadian Grammy Awards, and two Canadian Academy Awards for his work in the recent Chet Baker – Ethan Hawke film “Born to Be Blue”.

  1. Something Doing

Delicate and exquisite renditions of Joplin rags and obscure turn of the century tunes, Peter Grayling and Rachel Armstrong play beautifully together on vintage Gibson mandolins producing an authentic glimpse into a past era of music. Don’t be surprised though if a cello, mandocello or guitar appears and they sing you an original song or two as well.

  1. Lucy Peach

WAM Award winner for Best Folk Artist in 2017, Lucy continues to garner huge respect for her prodigious song writing skill and pitch perfect voice.  Celebrated songs, numerous tours and renowned live performances are becoming part of Lucy’s stable as she establishes herself as one of the most important WA artists of recent years.

  1. Little Whiskey

Three Albany girls return to their beloved hometown with a swag of gigs under their belt and a passion for live performance and original songwriting that is completely infectious.  Sombre and sensual with a harmony singing style that is meltingly satisfying. Little Whiskey are blended, rich and warming.

  1. Powderkeg (CD Launch)

Following standing ovations at Fairbridge Festival and performing with celebrated international artists, Powderkeg deliver vintage swing tunes, rags and blues with humour, instrumental skill and energy like few ensembles can. Django-esque, tight and punchy, Powderkeg guarantee to keep their powder dry for a genuinely explosive concert.

  1. Carus Thompson

A much celebrated WA and Australian touring artist, Carus performs Harbourside mid-way through an extensive new album tour. Charismatic, accomplished and always a joy to watch and listen to, Carus performs his much anticipated new album after a five year recording hiatus.

  1. Trevor Jalla

17 Years as a full-time musician has taken Trevor from European festival stages and club dates across the USA to the most intimate solo acoustic performances around Perth and South-West WA. His unique blend of soul, folk, country and blues pays homage to influences such as Ray Charles, James Taylor, George Jones and Robert Johnson, while his original compositions have been three-times nominated for WAM Song of the Year.

  1. David Rastrick Trio

Trumpet player and vocalist David Rastrick presents some of his jazz based music in acoustic format – with double bass and guitar – with catchy compositions such as Balingup Blues, Mambo D’Mulcho, The Second-hand Band, and King Banana Calypso, demonstrating a jazz rich tradition of embracing cultural elements from around the world.

  1. The Praashekh Quartet

Praashekh Borkar is part of a musical family dynasty from Puna, India, where both his father and brother are also renowned virtuosos of the sarod, one of India’s most famous string instruments. Currently he is one of his country’s leading younger generation musicians. Join him with a stellar line of Perth’s top world/jazz musicians.

  1. 2Maia

Donna Davis and Roimata Keepa-Tibble are 2Maia from the Shores of New Zealand, now local to Albany. A passionate, driven and inspired RnB Soul acoustic duo, individually unique singer/songwriters capturing and creating fresh originals of meaning and depth within their sound.

July 27

  1. Rose Parker and Dave Hyams

Rose Parker is a much loved singer songwriter who is fiercely Australian in her heritage and universal in her outlook. From her roots in the wheatbelt towns of WA and her musical travels from San Francisco to Fremantle, her sound merges elements of folk, gospel, alt country and blues. She is joined by leading West Australian musician Dave Hyams.

  1. Zeilinski and Fowler

Rob Zeilinski is a musician’s musician. As well as being a gifted violin maker and restorer he has studied with some legendary Donegal players. Rob will be accompanied on guitar by Joe Fowler, also a seasoned musician drawing knowledge and inspiration from several renowned Cork and Country Clare musicians.
